Introduction. Kawai are piano builders whom we really admire and have to admit that we are a fan of their pianos. They are not as famous as their fellow Japanese piano builders, Yamaha, but they do have a very significant and loyal following. Kawai is still a family-owned business making sure that their build quality remains very high and matching that of their rivals.
The Piano. The piano here is the HAT-5 which is a wonderful compact piano that has qualities shared with its more expensive stablemates. It is a good and enjoyable instrument to play. This is an ideal piano for pianists who are just beginning their piano playing journey through to those who are more advanced. The quality of this instrument is good, with a clear medium tone and smooth responsive action. One attractive feature is that it is fitted with a silent system allowing the player to play through the headphones instead of disturbing other members of the household
