Diapason. Japanese upright piano

Introduction. Diapason is a Japanese brand of quality that is not so well known in this country. We know that the Japanese are purveyors of superb pianos because of Yamaha and Kawai. Diapason was founded by Hataiwa Oh-hashi who also worked for Yamaha. He left his job to pursue his dream of creating his own pianos. His company was founded in 1947, building pianos from the finest materials, caring little about profit. Eventually Kawai acquired Diapason with a promise to continue to develop Diapason. We understand that Diapason are thought of as being more pure in tone, more Japanese rather than Yamaha or Kawai who sampled their sound from Steinway. All we know is that we love this Diapapson piano and would be intersted to know what you think.

The Piano. The Diapason we have in stock is an elegant instrument with a gloss black finish. Its size sits about half way between that of a Yamaha U1 and U3. This instrument was built using high quality materials. It is a great choice for beginner pianists right through to the really advanced pianists. This piano will provide many decades of reliable service for you. The piano featured here is a wonderful example built in Japan, feels wonderful to the touch producing a lovely medium tone.
